How every discount group works
01
Join once with a small refundable deposit. Duplicate memberships from the same household are merged or refunded — they never count twice toward the ladder.
02
The deposit is held, never spent, while the discount group is open. It tells the seller the group is real. It is refunded in full if the discount group doesn't run, if you withdraw before closing, or if you decline the final price.
03
After the winning bid is chosen you receive a scope confirmation with the final price and any add-ons. Nothing is charged beyond your deposit until you accept it in writing.
04
When the seller schedules, confirm within the window stated on your discount group. A missed appointment without notice can forfeit scheduling priority.
05
The balance is due when the work is done and you've had a chance to inspect it. No seller on VolumeVillage may demand full payment up front.
06
After completion you rate the seller. Ratings are permanent, public on the seller's record, and drive who wins future discount groups.
01
Licence, insurance, tax details and identity are checked by the coordinator before any bid is accepted. Expired documents suspend bidding automatically.
02
A seller places one bid per discount group: one price, one warranty, one lead time. You may replace your bid while the discount group is open, but you can never stack multiple offers or bid against yourself.
03
Your bid covers the full standard scope listed on the discount group. Add-ons must be priced on the discount group's add-on list — no surprise line items after the award.
04
If the discount group closes at a lower tier than you bid, the lower tier price is the price. You are bidding for the whole committed group, and the group price applies to every member.
05
Winning a discount group means serving every member who accepted their scope, inside the lead time you bid, across the discount group's stated area.
06
After each job you rate the buyer on access, communication and readiness. This two-way record keeps both sides honest.

Deposit rules
01
A buyer joins a discount group with a refundable deposit and accepts the deposit agreement for that discount group.
02
Verified sellers place one bid each against the discount group's fixed scope while the discount group is open.
03
On the closing date the ladder locks at the lowest unlocked tier. Discount groups under their minimum refund every deposit automatically.
04
The coordinator awards the discount group to the best verified bid — price, warranty, lead time and seller record all count, not price alone.
05
Each member receives a scope confirmation: the final tier price, the standard scope, and any priced add-ons they selected.
06
When a member accepts, a purchase order is issued to the seller. The deposit is credited against the balance.
07
The seller completes each job inside the lead time they bid. The member pays the balance on completion, after inspection.
08
The buyer rates the seller; the seller rates the buyer. Both records are permanent and shape future awards.
09
The seller is paid out minus a holdback, released after the work checks out. An open dispute pauses the affected payout until it's resolved.
