Terms of service

The rules for using VolumeVillage. The deposit, seller and purchase-order agreements sit alongside these and are versioned separately.

Last updated 6 September 2026.

1. Who we are

VolumeVillage runs a group-buying marketplace. Buyers join a discount group for a product or a project, verified sellers bid for the whole group, and the group price falls as more people join.

We are not the seller. The seller you are matched with contracts with you directly and is responsible for the goods or work.

2. Using the site

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract where you live. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.

Do not create more than one account per household to game a discount group, do not scrape the site, and do not try to reach other members outside the discount group for anything unrelated to it.

3. Joining a discount group

Joining a discount group places a refundable deposit. The deposit reserves your place; it is not payment for the goods or work.

Nothing beyond the deposit can be charged to you until you have seen a final number and confirmed it in writing. If you decline it, your deposit is refunded in full.

A discount group can fail. If it closes below its minimum, or no acceptable bid is received, every deposit is refunded in full.

4. Selling on VolumeVillage

Sellers must be verified before they can bid: business identity, trade licence where one is required, and liability insurance. Lapsed credentials deactivate an account automatically.

A bid is a binding offer to serve the whole roster at the price bid. Our fee is a percentage of the closed order, taken at payout, with a holdback released after the work is complete.

The full seller agreement is published and versioned on the agreements page.

5. What we do not promise

We do not guarantee that a discount group will reach its minimum, that a seller will bid, or that any particular price will be reached.

We do not perform the work and we do not warrant it. Workmanship and product warranties come from the seller and the manufacturer.

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the fees we received in connection with your order.

6. Disputes

Raise a problem with us first through the disputes page. We will look at the order record, the agreed scope and both sides' evidence, and we may hold a payout while we do.

If we cannot resolve it, the path runs to the seller's insurer, and then to the courts of the state where the work was performed.

7. Changes and closing your account

We may change these terms. Material changes are published here with a new version and, where they affect a discount group you are in, sent to you.

You can close your account at any time. Obligations under an order already confirmed survive.
